WHO WAS IN MY ROOM LAST NIGHT? This song is in Drop-D tuning (DADGBE). Tune your low E string down to D and pull out yr favorite fuzzbox, and get ready to rock. Damn, that sounds lame. anyways, there are two guitars on this song. One plays lead and the other plays rhythm, obviously. b = bend (all the bends in this song are REALLY high) \ = slide ^ = hammer-on or pull-off Use a tremolo bar for extra effect on the bends. Intro/Verse: G----------------- D-0-0-0-0-3-5-3-0- A-0-0-0-0-3-5-3-0- D-0-0-0-0-3-5-3-0- Chorus (?): G-5\7-5\7-5\7-5\7------------------- D-5\7-5\7-5\7-5\7------3-5-3-------- A-3\5-3\5-3\5-3\5--3-5-------5-3-5-- D----------------------------------- Then: ************* E--------------------------------------------------------------5b-5-5-5-5-etc B------------------------------------6b---8-6-8-8b^6\3--6b-3-------------- G-5\7-5\7-5\7-5\7--------5-----5--7b-------------------------------------- D-5\7-5\7-5\7-5\7--3-5\7----7--------------------------------------------- A-3\5-3\5-3\5-3\5--------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guitar 2 chords: F G F Return to riff ************* This may confuse you, but it's the clearest sounding thing in that riff. Bend the 8 up high and return it back down while pulling off to the 6 then sliding down to the 3. Then bend the 6 up, release, and play the 3. It's a pain to play, so you may wanna find an easier way to do it, but it sounds cool! Paul uses a tremolo bar (whammy bar, whatever you wanna call it), so it helps to use one to get extra height on those bends, and to get lower and get a smoother sound out of those slides. Try it. The part at the very end I'm not sure of, it's buried under the rhythm guitar. The actual solo begins here: E-------------------------------------------------------------------- B----------6-8-6-8b^6\3-6b-3---8-6-8-8b^6\3--6-8b^6\3-3-6b-6-6-3~~--- G-----5-7------------------------------------------------------------ D-5-7---------------------------------------------------------------- A-------------------------------------------------------------------- D-------------------------------------------------------------------- It may take some time to get that high bend pull-off slide right, but use a trem bar to make it easier. Once you get it, it rocks! E-------------------------------------- B----------6-8-6--8b^6\3----8-6-8-8b*** Knock this note off the scale G-----5-7------------------------------ with the tremolo bar. D-5-7---------------------------------- A-------------------------------------- D-------------------------------------- Then: E----------------------------------- B----------------------8b-8-8-8-8-8- Use the trem bar one these notes, too. G-5\7-10/7--5\7--5\7---------------- D-5\7-10/7--5\7--5\7---------------- A-3\5--8/5--3\5--3\5---------------- D----------------------------------- That's about it. There may be another solo or two, but I think they all follow the same pattern. This seems to be a pretty popular song, and this and Pepper were the most common requests for tabs. Well, the Buttholes DO have other albums, you know. Anyways, I have done a Pepper tab, so find it and fully qualify yourself as a commercial newbie poser loser!!! Just kidding... chris Lawrence mustang@islandnet.com
